We’re here, in person, for the people who rely on us.
We are above all driven by our purpose, which has three equally important but distinct parts. The first – “We’re here” – recognises that Post Office is unique as the only retailer in each nation and every community across the UK. We’re at once universal but also local to each community – in fact, our network has been at its most stable for decades, with over 11,500 branches across the UK.
Next – “in person”. Our Postmasters and their colleagues offer face-to-face advice helping customers meet their essential needs in a way that is not always possible online.
And last, but certainly not least, we’re there “for the people who rely on us”. Although the Post Office is for everyone, we know some parts of society rely on us more than others. For the people and businesses that need us most, we’re proud to provide vital, trusted services that allow them to operate in cash, pay their bills in person, verify their identity, and more as their needs change.
Our Purpose on the frontline
As our Postmasters are at the heart of what we do, they are best placed to explain why they do it – because across the UK, our Postmasters are proud to provide convenient and accessible services that help communities and small businesses. So, we’ve spoken to our Postmasters and asked them what they think.
Our Postmasters have an unrivalled relationship with their customers. They not only connect our customers with essential products and services, but also often go beyond the call of duty at the heart of their communities and support customers in a way few other businesses can. We asked some of our Postmasters about how they support vulnerable customers in their communities.
For our Postmasters, being at the heart of the community means they’re available to help when you need them, even when that’s just a reassuring chat when you visit. We asked some of our Postmasters about how they support vulnerable customers in their communities.
