Central to our Intent to 2025 is our ambition to forge new commercial partnerships so that we can launch new products and services in our branches and online.
Also central to our Intent to 2025 is our ambition to forge new commercial partnerships so that we can launch new products and services in our branches and online. For example, in 2021 we announced an exciting partnership with Yoti, a global leader in digital identity services. Together, we have launched an app, Post Office EasyID, alongside in-branch services.
Our EasyID app combines customers’ personal data and biometrics to create a secure, reusable ID on users’ phones. This can be used for a suite of services at the vast majority of our branches across the UK, alongside 12,000 other UK shops that accept digital identity – whether for collecting parcels or serving as proof of age to buy items such as medicines, lottery tickets and computer games.
Meanwhile, our in-branch services are there for customers who do not have access to a smartphone or who simply prefer face-to-face contact when confirming their identity.
Our partnership demonstrates Post Office’s ambition to embrace new technology, delivering a unique offering that integrates digital and physical identity verification at scale, so that Post Office can play a key role in driving UK’s digital transformation.
In April 2022, we announced that our partnership with Western Union will be extended to include over 4,000 branches as well as online.
