Langholm Post Office has opened at a new location – The Langholm Paper Shop, 48 High Street, Langholm, Dumfries and Galloway, DG13 0JH.
Elizabeth Wilson is the new postmistress operate the Post Office from her convenience store, which also sells cards, stationery and confectionery.
This has restored a full-time branch to the town, with daily service.
A community celebration with Ewan Patterson current Langholm Cornet and Steven Hotson the Langholm Cornet from 25 years ago, performing the official opening. They jointly “cut the ribbon” to mark the branch opening to the public at lunchtime today.
The opening hours for Langholm Post Office are Monday to Friday: 7am – 5pm; Saturday: 7am – 1pm; Sunday: 7 – 11am.
This provides 60 hours of Post Office service per week for the convenience of customers.

Similar services will still be available, with the addition of Drop & Go.
Post Office Area Change Manager, Samuel Williams, said: “We are delighted that there is now a full-time branch in Langholm again. We are grateful that the outreach Post Office in the town hall has maintained service to the community since November 2019 and that there is now a wonderful, permanent solution for the town.”
